The Victorian Government offers subsidies for training via the Skills First funding program. This page provides details on checking eligibility for this funding and available courses.

To begin your application process with 4 Up Skilling Pty Ltd to enrol and access Victorian Government subsidised training:

You must meet the ‘Eligibility Criteria’

A student must be either:

  • an Australian citizen;
  • a holder of a permanent visa; or
  • a New Zealand citizen.

You must be 15 years old or over; the student may no longer be at school or, in the case of School Based Trainees, still attending school.

You must also be undertaking all training and assessment while physically present in Victoria or in a border region with one of the following postcodes:

A student may only commence a maximum of 2 Skills First subsidised programs at any one time including both Skills First subsidised Skill Sets and Skills First subsidised (AQF) qualifications.

This means, if you are already enrolled in other training, besides secondary school, you might not be eligible for another program. Please check with 4Up Skilling as to your personal circumstances.

Applying for funding:

In addition to the above Skills First funding requirements, 4 Up Skilling will require you complete all the following for enrolment:

  • Complete the 4 Up Skilling enrolment form
  • Complete a Pre Training Review (PTR)
  • Complete an Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) assessment
  • Provide access to your personal ID (allow us to sight your Medicare Card and/or Drivers License)
  • Complete our enrolment interview with one of our friendly enrolment staff
  • Develop a training plan with your course coordinator and sign it
  • Attend your induction prior to commencing your course
  • You will also need to complete the Skills First Eligibility Declaration, supplying the required documentation listed in the form.

Students who do not provide a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) are not entitled to subsidies under Skills First. You can create a USI or find your existing USI using this link.
